Once Construction Begins, What Should You Expect?

April 29, 2017 by Jerry W

Over time, your driveway or parking lot is going to need some maintenance. To ensure the job gets done promptly and safely, you should hire a professional team of contractors to handle the work. After you have had the initial consultation and decided which services you want done, here is what you can expect after the work gets underway.

Notifications

Depending on the size of the project, it could be finished in one day or several. Either way, you should trust the team to keep you informed every step of the way. If the project needs to be delayed due to weather, you should hear about it. Other things could come up that will delay or restrict certain aspects of the project, and you should trust the contractor will notify you and work with you to come up with a solution everyone is happy with.

Detours

You cannot have vehicles driving over parking lots or driveways while work is being done. That means before the crew gets there, you need to figure out where people can park when they visit your commercial property. You may need to set up signs telling people where to go. Sending an email blast to your followers informing them of what will be happening is also an option. Your contractor can help plan a temporary traffic pattern.

Aftercare

Once the job is complete, you should not let cars drive over the area immediately. You may need to wait another day before it will be safe for vehicles to enter. You should follow any directions provided to you by the paving team. This prevents the area from having to be redone any time soon.

As long as you hire the right team for the job, you can expect a stellar new area that you can benefit from for a while. NVM Paving & Concrete is always up for the task, so learn more about our services by calling 703-372-9335.
